ABOUT US
JB Barnhouse started working part time at Country Landscapes, Inc. in 1998 while still an ISU student. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Horticulture in 2000, and became a full time employee at Country Landscapes at that time.
In 2002, he was accepted at the Building Crafts College in London, England. There he completed two diploma courses in architectural stone carving, traditional stone masonry and restoration. In 2003, he was named Most Outstanding Stonemasonry Student by the Master Brick and Tile Setters of London, England. After his course work was complete, JB served a five month apprenticeship at the Houses of Parliament in London, England. There he completed restoration work on historic stone walls, as well as carving complicated architectural elements.
In 2003, JB returned to the United States and opened a Stonemasonry Division of Country Landscapes, Inc. Since then Country Stonemasons, located in North Liberty, IA, has served the eastern and central IA areas by providing the art of traditional stonemasonry to residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
Today Country Stonemasons has several other full time employees. Like JB, they are well-versed in all aspects of work that Country Stonemasons performs while bringing their additional skills to the table.
Country Stonemasons is a member of the Masonry Institute of Iowa and the Stone Foundation.
